A Lancaster County man was assaulted in York City during an apparent robbery, police said.

Samuel Pettey, 31, of South Penn Street in Manheim, had his front teeth knocked out and suffered two black eyes as well as other facial injuries, York City Police said.

Officers were called to the 700 block of South Duke Street about 4:20 a.m. Saturday, where they found the injured man.

According to police, Pettey told them he was at JP's Bar, 41 E. Jackson St., and remembers drinking two beers. He said he can't remember anything after that, and his next memory is of speaking with officers, police said.

Pettey was taken to York Hospital, where he realized his wallet and keys were missing, police said.
