Work will begin next week on three bridges that carry local traffic over the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Dauphin, Lebanon and Lancaster counties.

The bridges are between the Harrisburg East exit (No. 247) and the Lebanon-Lancaster exit (No. 266), the Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission said.

The work will begin at 7 a.m. Wednesday near milepost 258, where a bridge carries Bellaire Road over the turnpike. Message boards and signs will warn of construction activities at each structure, the commission said.

The $475,775 contract was awarded to Mosites Construction Co. of Pittsburgh and will rehabilitate the three bridges, the commission said. Work will be done on one bridge at a time, and the project is expected to be completed by early November.
