A helicopter that had been stuck on the helipad at York Hospital for nearly four days has been repaired, clearing the pad for landings that had been diverted off campus.

Hospital spokesman Barry Sparks said the PennSTAR helicopter from Penn Medicine was repaired and moved overnight Wednesday after having a malfuction and getting stuck there Sunday.

The hospital, which averages as many as six helicopter landings per week, had been using an alternative helipad on Indian Rock Dam Road off Richland Avenue, about a mile from the hospital, Sparks said. Normal landing procedures are restored.
