A 65-mile section of the Pennsylvania Turnpike will be closed for seven hours this weekend as crews set overhead bridge beams on the McClures Gap Road Bridge in North Middleton Township, Cumberland County.
The turnpike will be closed in both directions between the Carlisle and Breezewood exits from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, according to the turnpike commission.
The recommended detour for eastbound motorists is to exit at Breezewood take Route 30 west to Interstate 70 east to I-81 north to Route 11 south and reenter at the Carlisle Interchange. Westbound motorists should exit at Carlisle take Route 11 north to I-81 south to I-70 west to Route 30 east and reenter at the Breezewood Interchange.
Alternate-route cards will be available to exiting travelers at Breezewood and Carlisle interchanges during the closure.
