A Grantley Ambulance was involved in a crash with a moped last week in Spring Garden Township.
The ambulance was being operated under emergency conditions and responding to a call when it was traveling the wrong way on South Ogontz Street about 6:20 p.m. July 25, according to township police.
A moped was traveling on Hollywood Drive when the driver, Scott Pennewill, 50, of Dallastown heard sirens and, believing the ambulance was behind him, pulled onto South Ogontz in an attempt to get out of the way and collided with the ambulance, police said.
Pennewill was transported to York Hospital for further medical evaluation and treatment. The driver of the ambulance, Dawn Wilson, 43, of Stewartstown was not injured, nor was any of the ambulance crew members, police said.
Police did not say if either driver were charged in the collision.
Anyone that may have witnessed the crash is asked to call officer Rick Eisenhart at 843-0851.
