Update: The York County email problem was resolved at 3:15 p.m.
Earlier story: York County has announced that many county government offices are experiencing problems with email receipt and delivery "due to an ongoing disruption in Internet service," said county spokesman Carl Lindquist.
Officials said all offices except those housed within the York County Department of Emergency Services are believed to be affected.
Residents are asked to communicate with county offices by telephone until service is restored.
A list of department phone numbers is available at http://yorkcountypa.gov under the "About York County" tab toward the top left of any page on the site.
The disruption was discovered around 8 a.m. Monday, with county staff surmising the outage is external and due to a disruption in internet service.
The county provided no timetable for restoration of service, but said updates will be provided.
