York County Crime Stoppers is giving a $500 reward to a tipster who anonymously provided information that led the March arrest of Brandon Dante Jones.

As a result of the tip, 29-year-old Jones, of York City, was arrested by the York City Police Department in connection with a home invasion and charged with aggravated assault, burglary, and receiving stolen property. Jones is in York County Prison and faces trial in York County Court of Common Pleas.

York City Police allege Jones broke into the home of Julius A. Davis in the 800 block of West Poplar Street about 3:20 a.m. March 17 and shot Davis in the chest and hand, critically injuring him.

Jones was arrested and taken to prison March 21, thanks to the Crime Stoppers tip, according to the organization.

Crime Stoppers is a nonprofit community program that provides several methods for people to anonymously provide crime-related tips. If the information leads to the resolution of a crime, tipsters are eligible for a cash reward.
