Dyer

Ronald Dyer is up for a vote as Dallastown's next superintendent.

The district announced Monday night the board will vote on Dyer, who is currently the interim superintendent, as the permanent replacement for former superintendent Stewart Weinberg.

Dallastown will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. ThursdayJune 21 at the high school to vote on Dyer, according to the district. The vote will be followed by a regular meeting.

Dyer and Thomas Newcome II, the superintendent at Octorara Area School District in Atglen, Pa., were the finalists in the school district's search for a permanent leader. Both met with the public and had several rounds of interviews last week.

Dyer declined to comment until after the vote is taken. He took over for Weinberg in February after the board requested Weinberg's resignation.

Dyer, 59, has been in education for more than three decades, starting in Virginia. He joined Dallastown as assistant superintendent for curriculum and instruction in 2005.
