A 92-year-old man died Saturday afternoon after a vehicle struck the golf cart he was driving, according to York County Deputy Coroner Claude Stabley.

Melvin Bartels, 92, from Peace Circle in New Oxford, was driving his golf cart on Route 94 in Adams County when it was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Brickyard Road at 2:13 p.m., said Stabley.

Bartels was taken to York Hospital where he was pronounced dead in the emergency room, Stabley said.

The cause of death was multiple blunt force trauma, according to Stabley.

Eastern Regional Police of Adams County responded to the accident.
