After a sunny Sunday with a high approaching 80 degrees, the National Weather Service is forecasting showers for the York area tonight and Monday.

The chance of precipitation overnight is 30 percent, the weather service says. It increases to 40 percent on Monday, when most of the rain and thunderstorms are expected after 2 p.m.

Monday's forecast calls for cloudy skies and a high of 79.

Warmer weather is on the way. The anticipated high for Wednesday is 93 degrees, and temperatures are expected to remain in the mid-90s through Friday, the forecast says.
