Vacation Bible school
---Participants are invited to join the "sky crew" at this year's Vacation Bible school at St. David's Evangelical Congregational Church, 2411 Oakland Road, Dover. The school runs from 9:15 to 11:45 a.m. Monday through Friday. Van transportation available on selected routes. ---First St. John's Lutheran Church, 140 W. King St., York, will hold vacation Bible school from 6-8:15 p.m. June 25-29. This year's theme will be Amazing Desert Journey. To register your children, phone the church at (717) 843-8597.

Cupcake contest
The Paul Smith Library of Southern York County, 80 Constitution Ave., Shrewsbury, invites all ages to participate in a cupcake decorating contest Tuesday. Applications and entries must be received by 5 p.m. that day. People's choice voting will take place from 6:30-7 p.m., and votes will be cast based on donations collected for favorite items. Complete rules, application, and a list of prizes is available at the library front desk, and online atwww.yorklibraries.org/syc.
A Sugar-Sculpting demonstration will be held at 7 p.m. by Chef Susan Notter of New Freedom, winner of Food Network's "Halloween Wars." The Cupcake War award ceremony will immediately follow the demo.
