The Northern York County Regional Police Department is holding a National Safety Council's “Defensive Driving” Program on Saturday, June 23.
To help prepare drivers for the class The York Dispatch created a video along with the assistance of Northern Regional police officer Mark Allen, who reviews some of the unsafe behaviors drivers need to be aware of. One of the behaviors is people driving at improper speed. The driver in this photograph stays within the speed limit as the car passes a clocking device in Haines Road in Springettsbury Township recently.
The program is open to those drivers age 16 or older and who possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license as well as to drivers age 55 or older and have attended prior “Coaching the Mature Driver” programs.
The course is held at the Northern York County Regional Police Department located at 1445 E. Canal Road in Dover from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Class is limited to 30 people and is on a “first-come, first served” basis.
Registration may be done by calling the Northern York County Regional Police Department at 292-3647 or by filling out a registration form at the station during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
