The York County Community Foundation, whose Beautiful York Committee is working on a makeover of York City's Continental Square, will host a public forum this week to gather more ideas.

The forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at City Hall, 101 S. George St.

The initiative, dubbed Reclaim Continental Square, got under way about a year ago when Beautiful York first identified a need to revamp the intersection.

Officials have said Beautiful York will continue planning over the summer and hopes to settle on a concept in the fall.

Last year, the committee floated ideas like adding an outdoor dining center, a grassy terrace and a flat-surface water feature that would double as a stage.
