Authorities have released the name of a Chanceford Township woman who drowned Wednesday night after backing an ATV over a 6-foot embankment and into a creek on her property.

Annemarie Fitzpatrick, 43, and her husband were celebrating their wedding anniversary about 8:30 p.m. along a creek that runs through their property in the 2200 block of Old Forge Road, according to state police.

Both of them got onto the ATV, and Fitzpatrick -- who was driving -- accidentally backed it over the embankment and into the creek, police said.

Her husband searched for her in the creek, which is about 8 feet deep, and pulled her to the edge of the creek.

He performed CPR until emergency crews arrived, police said. Emergency crews had to use a logging road to get to the rural area, according to the York County 911 Center.

York County Deputy Coroner Steve Cosey said either the husband or an ambulance crew was able to resuscitate Fitzpatrick, who was rushed to York Hospital. She died at the hospital at 10:40 p.m., he said.

Her cause of death is drowning, and the manner of her death has been ruled accidental, according to the coroner's office. No autopsy is planned.
