In collaboration with York City Parks and Recreation and the York Housing Authority, volunteers and staff from YorkArts work with at-risk children to give them opportunities for creative and safe self-expression.
During summer art camp, artists, staff and volunteers encourage and assist children in the creation of their own projects, which they can take home. Volunteers should be friendly and able to work well with children ages 4-12.
An orientation is scheduled for 6-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at YorkArts. The program will run from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, June 25 until Aug. 3. Contact Mindy Christian, project director, at mindychristian@yorkarts.org or 848-3200.
