A water safety instructor course is offered at the Jewish Community Center, 2000 Hollywood Drive in York Township, June 25-28. Register by Tuesday by calling the JCC at 843-0918 or register online at www.yorkjcc.org Cost - $260.

This course trains instructor candidates to teach American Red Cross swimming and water safety classes. Participants will learn how to use the course materials, how to conduct training sessions, and how to evaluate swimmers' progress.

Participants must be 16 years old and be able to swim 25 yards of the following strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, elementary backstroke, and sidestroke. Participants must attend all classes in order to receive certification.
