A man who was shot Monday night in York City has died.

Police and medical crews were dispatched to the 600 block of East South Street, near Girard Avenue, about 10:30 p.m.Monday, where they found a male lying in the middle of the street, York City Police said.

The male was taken to York Hospital, where he died, police said.

Police at the scene did not release additional information.
