A West York man was arrested Tuesday in connection with the April 4 burglary of his neighbor's home.

Lance E. Lewis, 32, of the 100 block of South Highland Avenue is charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property, according to borough police.

When a police officer went to Lewis' apartment Tuesday, Lewis' girlfriend, Karen T. Sipe, 32, allegedly lied to police about him not being home, police said.

The police officer saw Lewis trying to hide in the apartment and took him into custody. Sipe was also arrested and is charged with hindering apprehension, police said.

Lewis is accused of stealing a large amount of cash, a flat-screen TV, a DVD player and tires mounted on custom chrome wheels, all worth several thousand dollars, police said.

The victim suspected Lewis committed the crime from the start and through an investigation, police were able to secure a warrant for Lewis' arrest, police said.
