Police allege the owner of a pickup truck nearly ran over a repo man sent to repossess the truck.

Patrick Anthony Riley, 45, of North August, S.C., is charged with attempted aggravated assault and driving on a suspended license, according to online court documents. He is free on $10,000 bail.

The repo man was preparing to tow Riley's 2009 GMC Sierra truck from the parking lot of the Best Western hotel along Kenneth Road in West Manchester Township about 10:45 p.m. Sunday when Riley came out of the hotel and got in the truck, according to township police.

Riley revved the truck's engine and, as the repo man was standing in front of it trying to coax him out of the truck, Riley put it in drive, nearly hitting the man.

The repo man leapt out of the way and was not injured.

A York Area Regional Police officer found Riley and the truck at Queensgate Shopping Centre in York Township a short time later. Police arrested Riley, and his truck was repossessed.
