The 24th Annual York Jaycees' Chili Cookoff and Salsa Showdown presented by Senecal Software will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 26, at Sovereign Bank Stadium, with the awards ceremony at 3:15pm.

Advance tickets are on sale for $8 at the event website through May 23. Tickets will be $10 at the gate with children 10 and under admitted free. Admission allows event-goers to sample all the chili and salsa and enjoy the entertainment.

The deadline for team registration is Wednesday at the team cooks' meeting to be held at 6:30 p.m. at The Art Institute of York, 1409 Williams Road. Registration packets are available online at www.YorkChiliCookoff.com or by contacting info@YorkChiliCookoff.com.

Each team specifies a charity to receive a portion of the gate admission as well as any award money they win. Teams also have a bucket at their stand where people can make direct financial contributions to their charity. Prize money up to $1,000 for the Grand Champion can make a big difference for a team's favorite charity.

After the event, there is a York Revolution game against the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs beginning at 6:30 p.m. at the stadium. A limited number of game tickets are available for $5 at www.YorkChiliCookoff.com.
