York could get more than 1 1/2 inches of rain by the end of Monday night, possibly causing minor flooding.

York and the rest of central Pennsylvania will see locally heavy rain throughout the day on Monday, according to the National Weather Service. Between 1 1/4 and 1 3/4 inches of rain is expected in the area, and people in low-lying areas should watch out for potential flooding, the service said. Monday's high will be 68 and the low 61.

Showers are expected to continue Tuesday, with thunderstorms possible after 2 p.m., the forecast said. Up to another inch of rain is possible. Tuesday's high will be 74 and the low 57.

Wednesday has a 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 1 p.m., the NWS said. The high will be 81 and the low 53.

Thursday will begin a string of sunny days, the forecast said. Sun is predicted at least through Saturday, with highs in the upper 70s and lows in the mid-50s each day.
