On Mother's Day at the York County Heritage Trust, there are a number of free activities at both the Historical Society Museum and at the Colonial Complex that are open to all.
Visitors can enjoy a sweet treat at the Historical Society Auxiliary's Ice Cream Parlor on the first floor. Sundaes, floats, brownies, coffee and soft pretzels will be on sale to benefit the trust.
Also, the Museum Shop will have extreme markdowns at its Clean Sweep Sale Redux; drastic markdowns have taken place to reduce inventory for the shop's restyling.
There will also be a free opportunity to browse the brand-new Adam Pfaltzgraff exhibit on the mezzanine. The exhibit, titled "Adam's Eden: The Fanciful World of Adam Pfaltzgraff," features the sculptures of this little-known member of the family, who crafted garden creatures made of cement, with marble glass eyes.
Finally, at the Colonial Complex, (157 W. Market St., the Colonial Court House will be open, free of charge, to all visitors.
