Shank's Mare Outfitters is sponsoring a touring kayaking event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 12, and noon to 4 p.m. Sunday May 13.

Participants can test paddle a wide array of touring kayaks. Shank's Mare Outfitters is located directly on the Susquehanna River at 2092 Long Level Road, 5 miles south of Wrightsville on Route 624. This program is free of charge.

Besides having the opportunity to test paddle many different models of touring kayaks, factory representatives and the staff of Shank's Mare will be on hand to answer questions about this activity and how to join in Shank's Mare's many kayaking programs offered throughout the season.

From 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Susquehanna fishing guide Brian Shumaker will be giving kayak fishing demonstrations. Participants can also see kayak sailing rigs in action from BSD Sail Kits.
