The North Hanover Mall is up for sale.
Philadelphia-based Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust is selling the Hanover mall and four others in effort to reduce its debt, according to company statements.
The asking price of the 355,763-square-foot mall has not been disclosed. Revamped in 1999, the 45-year-old mall is anchored by Dick's Sporting Goods, J.C. Penney and Sears at its 1155 Carlisle St. address in Hanover.
As of March 31, the North Hanover Mall was nearly full with an occupancy rate of 93.8 percent, said Shawn Southard, company spokesman.
PREIT purchased it in 2003 from Crown American, according to company records, and also owns 37 other malls in the mid-Atlantic region.
In addition to the North Hanover Mall, Beaver Valley Mall, Chambersburg Mall, Phillipsburg Mall in New Jersey and Orlando Fashion Square in Florida are also for sale.
