A Red Lion-area man accused of burglarizing a business four blocks from his home was caught red-handed after an alert passer-by called 911, police said.
Christopher Jacob Cherry, 22, of 2924 Cape Horn Road in York Township, remains in county prison on $25,000 bail. He is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, criminal mischief, possessing an instrument of crime, theft and receiving stolen property.
York Area Regional Police allege Cherry broke into Credit King Autos used-car dealership at 2585 Cape Horn Road about 3:15 a.m. Sunday. A passer-by spotted him in the building and called 911, police said.
When Cherry spotted responding officers, he ran the other way, according to regional Sgt. Jeffrey Dunbar. But other officers were approaching from that direction as well, and Cherry ran right into them, according to Dunbar.
