Burn bans ended

East Hopewell, Windsor and Lower Windsor townships have ended their bans on open burning, the townships announced Monday.

These York County municipalities continue to have active burn bans: Chanceford, Conewago, Dover, Hellam, Jackson, North Codorus, Paradise, Shrewsbury, West Manheim and York townships and Felton, New Salem and Seven Valleys boroughs.

Open burning is also banned in all of Adams County.

Health screenings

There will be an AMBA blood screening event from 6 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 45 First Ave., Red Lion.

For $43, tests include cholesterol and triglyceride levels, glucose check for diabetes, blood cell counts and mineral levels in the blood, checks for liver disease, kidney disease, thyroid function and prostate specific antigen (PSA). This test would normally cost $150 to $200.

Rummage sales

---Otterbein U.M. Church of Spry, 50 School St., will hold its annual indoor spring yard sale 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday to benefit local missions, as well as missions throughout the world. It features clothing of all sizes, housewares, furniture, home décor, tools, collectibles and more. Soup, sandwiches and home baked goods will also be available to purchase. ---Mount Carmel Lutheran Church, 1398 Moulstown Road North, Hanover, will have a rummage and soup sale noon to 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, inside and outside, rain or shine. Perennial exchange

The Arthur Hufnagel Public Library of Glen Rock, 32 Main St., is hosting a perennial exchange for anyone interested in sharing plants. The exchange will take place from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the library.

Free trade will be the order of the day. Bring excess plants to trade with other gardeners, and go home with a new variety of plants and flowers. This is an opportunity to thin out perennial beds and to create a new look in the garden at no cost.

This event requires no registration. The library asks that all plants include the name of the plant and care instructions. For more information, call the library at 717-235-1127.
