A calf is motherless after the cow that gave birth to it was killed with a bow and arrow in East Manchester Township.
The dead cow was discovered Sunday morning in the 200 block of Gravel Hill Road, Northeastern Regional Police said.
It was shot sometime between 6 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday.
The calf is being hand-fed by its owners in hopes that it can survive without its mother's milk, police said.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call police at 266-6195.
