Expect to see York City officials and York County Sheriff's deputies out en masse in the city Wednesday morning.
A "Clean Sweep Operation" will be conducted in the northwestern part of the city from 8:30 a.m. to noon, according to city officials.
The area where the sweep will be held is from North Newberry Street east to North George Street and Jefferson Avenue south to Cottage Hill Road and Stevens Avenue.
Public Works employees, along with the help of the Sheriff's Department's CRU Unit, will remove large items and debris from alleyways. Property maintenance inspectors and city code officials will be inspecting properties for property maintenance violations.
York City Police will also be on hand to inspect vehicles that are parked on unapproved surfaces and will look for vehicles that are not current with inspection stickers and license plate registration.
