Hellam Township supervisors have enacted a burn ban under effect until May 10. Due to dry conditions, residents in Hellam Township are not permitted to conduct any type of open burning during the ban, according to a news release.

Burn bans are also in effect in Dover, Conewago, Manchester, Paradise and Jackson Townships according to Northern York County Regional Police. Bans in those counties are effective until further notice and also cover all forms of outdoor burning, police said.
