A Fairview Township man who thought he'd been cut off in traffic by another driver followed her to her place of work and punched her in the face until she lost consciousness and suffered bleeding on the brain, police allege.
Stephen David Kramer, 44, of 482 San Remo Place, is free on $50,000 bail. He's charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct and harassment.
Nicole Sellers, 31, no address available, suffered bleeding on the brain, a broken nose and a broken facial bone, according to Kramer's arrest affidavit.
She was transported by ambulance to Holy Spirit Hospital, then transferred to Hershey Medical Center, police said. Her condition could not be obtained.
The road-rage incident happened about 5:15 p.m. Tuesday outside Gold's Gym, 3401 Hartzdale Drive in Lower Allen Township, Cumberland County, police said.
The allegations: Township police said Kramer followed Sellers to the gym's parking lot, where he accused her of cutting him off in traffic and called her derogatory names.
As Sellers tried to walk inside the gym, Kramer held open the front door for her, police said.
As she walked past Kramer he either said something else to her or spat on her, then punched her in the face at least four times, according to the affidavit.
Witnesses told police Kramer delivered the last punch while Sellers was staggering to stay on her feet and was defenseless, the affidavit states.
Sellers fell to the ground, at which point witnesses carried her inside to the trainers' room, police said.
Other witnesses subdued Kramer, according to police, who said it appears Kramer was actually going to Gold's Gym.
A woman answering the phone at Kramer's home Wednesday afternoon said he was unavailable for comment, then hung up.
