The York 912 Patriots will host a federal candidates forum at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Holiday Inn Holidome, 2000 Loucks Road, York.

The organization said eight candidates have confirmed their participation, including Republican Ted Waga, who intends to challenge U.S. Rep. Todd Platts for the GOP nomination in the 4th District.

U.S. Senate candidates who plan to attend include Republicans John Kensinger, Brian Kelly, Marc Scaringi, Sam Rohrer, Tom Smith, Robert Mansfield, Laureen Cummings and Steve Welch and Democrat Joe Vodvarka.

U.S. Sen. Bob Casey Jr. is up for re-election in 2012.

The audience will be asked to take part in a straw poll after the forum, said Lee Ann Burkholder, communications director for the York 912 Patriots.
