Two pickles will drop in Dillsburg at the end of the year.

Mrs. Pickle will drop at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at Citizens Hose Fire & EMS Company No. 1 Community Hall at 109 S. Baltimore St.

At midnight, Mr. Pickle will be dropped in front of the fire station to mark the beginning of 2012.

"I grew up here, and I think it's such a great tradition to come out with everybody and spend time with your neighbor," said Laura Dye, a fire company member.

She said Mrs. Pickle will be dropped at 7 p.m. so families who have to leave before midnight won't miss seeing a pickle drop.

The borough's 19th annual New Year's Eve Pickle Drop activities begin at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 31, at the fire station, where a Central Pennsylvania Blood Bank blood drive will be held until 7:30 p.m. in the bay area, and where the children's games and face painting activities will be done until 8 p.m. by New Hope Ministries in the station's community hall.

In the community hall, a magic show begins at 6:30 p.m. and music and karaoke is from 8 to 11:30 p.m. Bingo will be played in the bay area from 8 to 11:30 p.m.

Music will play outside from 9 p.m. to midnight. A fireworks show will be presented after Mr. Pickle is dropped, Dye said.
