West York Police arrested 20-year-old Dustin Medina on Wednesday after he allegedly swallowed a packet of heroin because he saw officers approaching on foot patrol.
Medina, of no fixed address, was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
When officers approached Medina at 11:30 p.m., he was in possession of 274 pills of Oxycontin, 90 pills of Xanax, marijuana, heroin and two fentanyl patches and 100 clear plastic baggies.
Police said he admitted to swallowing a packet of heroin when he saw them coming. He was taken to York Hospital, then Central Booking.
