A corrections officer at York County Prison is not actively working at the facility after Fairview Township Police arrested him on drugs charges, a county official said.
Marino Anthony Magaro started working at the prison on October 3, 2011, spokesman Carl Lindquist wrote in an email, adding he can't comment further.
"However, I can advise that our policy in situations similar to this one is to place an employee on unpaid administrative leave pending a review of the circumstances and subsequent employment decision," he said.
Magaro was arraigned April 21 on five counts of possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession with intent to deliver and a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records, which also state he is free on $25,000 unsecured bail.
He was arrested April 9 after he allegedly sold marijuana during an undercover police operation in Fairview Township, police said. Township police officers later found more drugs at his home in the 5000 block of Ravenwood Road in Mechanicsburg, police said.
