BRASILIA, Brazil—A week after Brazil's president visited the United States, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is in Brazil's capital, highlighting the growing business ties between the two countries.

Speaking to Brazil's National Confederation of Industry on Monday, Clinton said a growing number of Brazilians are investing in the United States and going as tourists. She said that last year trade between the two reached $75 billion. Brazilian investment in the U.S. is now $15.5 billion a year, and visitors spent $7 billion last year, an increase of 150 percent over 2009.

Clinton described exchange programs in technology and education, and said two new consulates are planned for Brazil.

should redouble efforts to conclude a double taxation treaty, explore a bilateral investment treaty, and consider in the future a free trade agreement.
