Red Lion and South Western split a pair of lacrosse matches on Thursday.
The Lion boys won 10-6 at South Western, while the Mustang girls won 17-5 at Red Lion.
In the boys' match, the visiting Lions exploded with five goals in the second quarter to take a 6-1 advantage into halftime. They extended the lead to 9-3 after three quarters and held on from there to get the victory. The host Mustangs had trouble stopping Red Lion's Tyler Dunlap, who tallied a game-high four goals. Jac Gemmill and Sam Emig each had two scores for Red Lion. Teammate Dom Francisco made 11 saves in goal. Anthony DeVincent had a pair of scores to pace South Western.
In the girls' match, the visiting Mustangs tallied 10 goals in the first half and seven more after intermission to get the victory. Callie Kavanaugh (eight goals), Braxtin Reddinger (four goals) and Erin Brown (three goals) paced the South Western attack. Goalie Laura Silver made five stops for the Mustangs. Sierra Donovan had four of Red Lion's five goals.
