READING - The Farmingdale State University Rams made 55 trips to the free throw line on Monday as they outlasted the York College men's basketball team, 87-75, in the consolation game of the Albright College Holiday Tournament.

The Rams improved to 6-4 with the victory. York fell to 1-9.

Seniors Mike Mathews and Matt McNeely led the Spartans with 19 points each. Mathews' effort established a new career-high while he also tied a career-high with nine rebounds. McNeely added eight rebounds in 22 minutes. Freshman Ryan Beaver added 11 points, including a trio of 3-pointers. Freshman point guard Joey Feinberg dished out a career-high eight assists for the Spartans.

Farmingdale State attempted a whopping 55 free throws, converting 34 (61.8 percent). In the two games in Reading, the Spartan opponents went to the line a combined 86 times, making 53. Conversely, York made just 24 trips to the line, converting 14.

The Spartans return to action at 3 p.m. Saturday when they step back into Capital Athletic Conference play with a trip to Fredericksburg, Va., to face the University of Mary Washington Eagles.
