York College senior men's soccer defender Aaron Beale picked up another national honor recently when he was selected as a First Team All-American by d3soccer.com, considered by many the premier internet site dedicated to the coverage of Division III soccer.

Earlier in the month he was selected a National Soccer Coaches Association of America First Team All-American.

Beale led the Spartans to their second consecutive NCAA Division III Sweet 16 finish, helping York finish with a mark of 19-3-1.

Beale helped the Spartans capture their fifth straight Capital Athletic Conference championship and earn their ninth straight NCAA Division III Tournament appearance.

During Beale's tenure in the back of the Spartan defense, York accumulated a four-year record of 64-16-11 (76.4 percent) and a CAC record of 24-2-4 (86.7 percent).

Beale played in and started 22 of the Spartans' 23 games in 2013. He tallied eight points on two goals and four assists from his defensive position. Beale led a defense that allowed just 14 goals in more than 2,100 minutes of play, good for a goals-against average of 0.60. The Spartans recorded 14 shutouts for the year.

In his career, Beale played in 85 matches and scored 18 points on five goals and eight assists. He recorded a pair of game-winning goals for the Spartans during his career. Over the last four years, the Spartans registered 50 shutouts in 91 games and recorded a goals-against average of 0.62.

Beale closed out his career as a three-time First Team All-Capital Athletic Conference honoree. He earned the honor in each of his last three years with the Spartans. He was a two-time, First Team All-South Atlantic Region selection.

The Spartans finished the season ranked seventh in the D3soccer.com poll and 10th in the NSCAA/Continental Tire Division III Coaches' Poll.
