The York College men's soccer team got back on track with a 1-0 Capital Athletic Conference win at Penn State Harrisburg on Wednesday night in Middletown.
The Spartans, who are 20th in the nation in NCAA Division III according to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and eighth by d3soccer.com, improved to 14-2 overall and 6-1 in the CAC. The Lions, in their first season in the CAC, fell to 3-11-1 overall and 0-6 in the league.
York scored the only goal on their eighth shot of the night when Greg Bechard rocketed a long shot that caromed off the left post and into the goal in the 58th minute of the game. The goal was unassisted and was Bechard's second goal of the year.
York ended the game with a 14-7 edge in total shots, including an 8-3 margin in shots on goal. The Spartans also held a 6-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Brad Schmidt earned his seventh shutout of the year, making three saves for his 14th win of the year.

VOLLEYBALL TEAM SWEPT: The Frostburg State women's volleyball team swept to a 25-20, 25-21, 25-23 Capital Athletic Conference triumph over host York College on Wednesday during Senior Night. York fell to 15-12 overall and 2-3 in the CAC. Frostburg improved to 6-23 and 3-3. York hit a season-low .081. York Catholic High School graduate Brittany Hicks led York with six kills, while Katherine Graziano paced the defense with 10 digs. Kristin Martinak handed out a team-high 10 assists.
