Central York HIgh School is planning to celebrate the life of Head Coach Joe Stauffer and the 1963 York County championship football team.
Stauffer died this summer at the age of 76. As the Panthers' football coach from 1960-1971, Stauffer compiled a 70-43-3 record. That included a York County Interscholastic Athletic Association championship in 1963 -- the Panthers' first-ever football title. This history-marking team finished with a 7-1-1 record. This fall, it will be 50 years since the title season. The celebration will take place during the Spring Grove football game at Central York on Friday, Oct. 4.
The organizers of the event are looking for email addresses and/or phone numbers of members of the 1963 team. Any member of the 1963 team is asked to email Tom Clough at email@example.com or Bob Miller at firstname.lastname@example.org.
