The York College baseball team stormed back from an early 3-0 deficit on Wednesday to earn a non-league road victory vs. Messiah, 8-5.
The Spartans fell behind 3-0 in the first inning, but went on to score eight unanswered runs to take control.
York improved to 6-7 and snapped a three-game losing streak. Messiah fell to 3-8.
York's Colbe Herr had three hits, including a homer, to go with three runs scored and an RBI. Dallastown High School graduate Derek Pitzer homered and drove in three runs for the Spartans. South Western grad Colin Porter added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
Josh Kohn got the win on the mound to improve to 2-0. He settled down after the rocky first and lasted five innings, giving up just two hits and three runs. He struck out three and walked five.
Mike Sarecky got the save with a scoreless, hitless ninth.
