Senior guard Kate Dellinger, an Eastern York grad, elevated herself even further among the elite student-athletes in Widener history by being named second team Capital One CoSIDA Academic All-America for women's basketball a second straight year.
Dellinger is the 46th Academic All-America in Widener history and the school's ninth to be a multiple honoree.
It has been yet another standout campaign for Dellinger, who has been the model student-athlete both on the court and in the classroom. The fourth team Preseason All-America by D3Hoops.com this season is ninth in the Commonwealth Conference with 12 points per game, sixth with nine rebounds per contest, tied for sixth with two steals per game and fifth with 31.7 minutes per contest. She also has been named to two all-tournament teams and leads the squad with 10 double-doubles.
Widener is the second seed for the conference tournament and will host third-seeded Lebanon Valley in the semifinals on Wednesday.
