ANNAPOLIS, Md. - York Catholic High School graduate Jacob Iati scored a career-high 26 points, hitting six 3-pointers, as Albany (N.Y.) defeated Navy 71-61 Friday night.

"I knew he would play well because he is from York, Pa. and anytime we play in the state of Maryland, it seems like half of York Pa. shows up in support for the Iatis," said head coach Will Brown on Iati's career night.

Iati was 6-of-11 from behind the arc and 8-of-13 overall. For the season, Iati is averaging 16.2 points per game and is shooting 48.5 percent from the field and 48 percent from 3-point range.

The Great Danes (10-3), coming off a 59-57 loss to Quinnipiac on Dec. 21 that snapped a six-game winning streak, posted their 10th nonconference victory - the most before conference play in the school's Division I era.

Tied at 11 with 12:42 left in the first half, Albany launched a 12-0 run, including two 3-pointers by Iati and one by Peter Hooley. The Midshipmen (6-8) trimmed the deficit to 25-19 at the 3:05 mark, but the Great Danes closed out the half on an 11-5 run.

After Albany opened the second half with a 14-7 burst, Navy again got within six, 51-45, with 7:29 left, but could get no closer as Luke Devlin scored 11 of his 13 points in a 20-8 Great Danes run.

Tilman Dunbar's 17 points led Navy.
