The Green Bay Packers' roster now includes two former York County football standouts.

The Packers signed Susquehannock High School graduate Chaz Powell to the team's practice squad on Wednesday.

Dover High School graduate John Kuhn has been a fullback with the Packers since 2007.

After a stellar career at Susquehannock, the 6-foot, 203-pound Powell played at Penn State, where he started at both wideout and defensive back during his Nittany Lions' career.

During his senior season, Powell was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection at cornerback, collecting 41 tackles and two interceptions.

The versatile Powell also ranked third in the Big Ten in kickoff return average (27.1 yards per return) in 2011, including taking the opening kickoff of the 2011 season back for a 95-yard touchdown. He set PSU career records for kickoff returns (73) and kickoff return yards (1,886).

In 2009, Powell started at wideout for the Lions, and was fourth on the team with 28 receptions for 366 yards (13.1 yards per catch) and three touchdowns.

After leaving PSU, Powell went undrafted by the NFL and signed a free agent contract with the Oakland Raiders. He was waived by the Raiders on Aug. 27.

Powell will wear No. 41 with Green Bay and is expected to play safety.

Kuhn, meanwhile, was a member of Green Bay's 2011 Super Bowl championship team and was a Pro Bowl selection last season.

This season in 10 games, the seven-year NFL veteran has rushed the ball 20 times for 63 yards (3.2 yards per attempt) and caught 14 passes for 139 yards (9.9 yards per reception). He's run for one touchdown this season.
