Baseball Hall of Fame pitcher Fergie Jenkins is the latest celebrity to accept an invitation to the 49th York Area Sports Night program.
The 2013 show is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 7, at Heritage Hills Golf Resort and Conference Center.
Jenkins, 69, made his major league debut with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1965.
During his 19-year career, the 6-foot, 5-inch right-hander also pitched for the Chicago Cubs, Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox.
Jenkins compiled an overall won-loss record of 284-226 and a 3.34 earned-run average. He won 20 or more games seven times, captured the Cy Young Award in 1981 and was selected for the all-star team three times.
The first Canadian inducted into the Hall of Fame, Jenkins displayed outstanding control by striking out more than 3,000 batters and walking less than 1,000.
Jenkins, who appeared at the 2002 York Sports Night show, will join former Penn State and Baltimore Colts star Lydell Mitchell at this year's show. Mitchell is a College Football Hall of Famer. His addition to the show had been announced previously.
