Susquehannock and West York have separated themselves from the pack in York-Adams Division II girls' soccer.
The Warriors and Bulldogs both earned divisional victories on Wednesday, with Susquehannock downing visiting Dover, 2-1, and West York blanking visiting Eastern York, 3-0.
Susquehannock leads the division with 21 points on a 7-2-0 record, while West York (6-1-1) sits second with 19 points. The Bulldogs, however, have played one less game. Northeastern (5-4-0) is in third with 15 points.
At Glen Rock, Cassidy Mummert scored both goals for Susquehannock, which rallied from a 1-0 deficit. Jeanette Wilson and Katie Steines provided assists. Paige Hartman scored Dover's goal, off an assist from Maxine Herman. Both goalies, Susquehannock's Ashley Stone and Dover's Marcie Gerrick, had seven saves.
At West York, Shyanne Kimbrough and Elle Stine each scored goals. The Bulldogs' other goal came on an Eastern own goal. Kimbrough now has 102 career goals. Brittany Jones and Alexis Sheffer had assists. Stevie Gross made four saves to record the shutout. Cassidy Layman had four saves for Eastern.
OTHER GIRLS' SOCCER
CENTRAL 2, YORK SUBURBAN 2 (OT): At Suburban, the Panthers jumped out 2-0 halftime lead when Sam Sweeney found the back of the net twice. The Trojans rallied in the second half on a pair of Mikala Kin goals, the second with 1:48 left. Neither team could score in two overtimes.
YORK CATHOLIC 4, BIGLERVILLE 0: At Biglerville, Kathleen Johnson led the Irish to the York-Adams Division III win, scoring two goals and adding one assist. Kaila Ilyes scored one goal and added one assist, while Elizabeth Johnson scored one goal. The Irish held the Canners to two shots on goal. York Catholic improved to 8-2-0 in the division.
SOUTH WESTERN 2, SPRING GROVE 1: At Hanover, Chloe Flemion scored the game-winning goal at the 31:45 mark of the match. Flemion also picked up an assist. For the Rockets, Kiersten Wetzel scored a goal, while Ashley Madison added an assist. Spring Grove goalie Kaitlin Dunne stopped six shots.
