Eastern York High School graduate Elicia Anderson has been named to the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association 2012 All-Academic Track and Field Team.
Anderson ran for Millersville University.
To qualify for the team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade-point average of 3.25 and have reached a provisional or automatic qualifying standard for the NCAA Championships in either the indoor or outdoor seasons.During the indoor season, Anderson provisionally qualified for the NCAA Division II Championships in the 5,000-meter run with a time of 16:48.09 at the New Balance Invitational on Feb. 3. Anderson would go on to take sixth in the NCAA Division II Championship race, making her an All-American in the event.
For the outdoor season, Anderson again provisionally qualified for the 5,000-meter run and automatically qualified for the 10,000-meter run. Her 5,000-meter time was 16:44.93 at the Raleigh Relays and she finished the season by placing 16th at the NCAA Division II Championships. In the 10,000-meter run, Anderson qualified at the Mt. SAC Relays with a time of 34:22.88. Her NCAA Division II Championship place was 10th in that race.
