Mount Wolf handed first-place Dover its first Central Baseball League loss of the season on Thursday evening, 6-5.
Adam Hoff came on in relief during the seventh and struck out two of the three batters he faced to save the game for the Wolves.
Visiting Dover scored two runs in the top of the seventh, but it wasn't able to push across the tying run.
Kyle Cook and Aaron Myers had two hits apiece for Mount Wolf, which snapped a 1-1 tie with four runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Chris Bubb had two hits for Dover, which fell to 4-1. Mount Wolf improved to 2-2.
OTHER CENTRAL LEAGUE GAMES
GLEN ROCK 12, MAN CHESTER 7: At Manchester, Glen Rock exploded for 10 runs in the top of the third. The Rock sent 14 batters to the plate during the decisive inning, when it collected seven hits, all singles. Brad McCullough pitched the first five innings to earn the victory. The right-hander allowed just three hits while striking out seven and walking nine. Manchester, after managing only one run in its first three bats, put up six runs in its last three at bats.
SHILOH 6, PLEASURE VILLE 4: At Shiloh, the home jumped out to a 6-2 lead after two innings and went on to capture the victory. Dillon Schwartzer led Shiloh, going 2-for-4, including a triple, with two runs scored. Joe Miller (3-for-3, one run scored, one RBI), Zach Zambito (2-for-3, one run scored) and Allen Rohrbaugh (complete-game win, five strikeouts, three walks) also excelled for Shiloh. For Pleasureville, Jeremy Nulph went 2-for-3 with one run scored, while Chet Haifley doubled.
STOVERSTOWN 1, JEF FERSON 1: At Jefferson, the umpires stopped the game because of darkness after Jefferson batted in the bottom of the eighth. The Jeffs scored their run in the first, and Stoverstown earned a tie in the fourth. The suspended game will be picked up in the ninth inning at a date and time to be determined.
