Like most anything else, there's going to be rust when it comes to trying something for the first time after a layoff.

That especially applies to baseball players, and the York Revolution has served as a good example of it over the past week.

Sure, the team had a handful of spring-training games to get acclimated to the game after a long offseason. But then the final two exhibitions were rained out. And the team had to travel to Sugar Land (Texas) for a four-game series last week and travel back to York on Monday.

While no one in the Revs' clubhouse has made excuses, the short spring training and wacky schedule may have played a role in the team's four-game losing streak heading into Wednesday. However, the team seemed to wake up a little bit on Wednesday and got back on the winning track with a 4-3 victory over the Camden Riversharks.

Revs' starter Ryan Feierabend (1-1), who surrendered five runs on eight hits in less than five innings in his first start last Friday at Sugar Land, bounced back in his second start against Camden. In front of 3,692 fans at Sovereign Bank Stadium, the lefty held the Riversharks (3-3) scoreless in five innings of work, allowing four hits and walking one while striking out three to pick up his first win in a Revs' uniform.

"At Sugar Land as far as mistakes I made, they hit every one I threw. That showed on the scoreboard. Five runs, eight hits," Feierabend said. "Today I was more laid back, so to speak. I was able to throw both breaking pitches for strikes."

Despite collecting just six hits, York's offense looked a tad better, too.

Outfielder Michael Hernandez gave York (2-4) an early 3-0 lead in the first inning with a three-run homer over the left-field wall off Camden starter Sean Jarrett (1-1). It snapped York's club-record 23-inning scoreless streak and marked the first time this season the Revs scored multiple runs in one inning.

The Revs tacked on one more run on in the sixth on a sacrifice fly from second baseman Liu Rodriguez that scored catcher Travis Scott from third.

The Revs ended up needing the late run when Camden drew to within 4-3 the next inning on a three-run homer from Steve Doetsch off Ricardo Gomez. Right-hander Adam Thomas tossed a scoreless eighth and righty R.J. Rodriguez worked out of a jam in the ninth by striking out the final batter to pick up his second save of the season.

Offense: York is batting just .163 through its first six games, and has yet to surpass six hits in a single game.

Still, Hernandez is optimistic about the Revs' offense.

"We're not really worried. Nobody is panicking. We know what kind of guys we have on the team.," Hernandez said. "We'll get it rolling here soon."

Game 3: The Revs host Camden on Thursday in the finale of the three-game series. York left-hander Chris Cody (0-1, 5.40 ERA) will face Camden right-hander Bryan Corey (0-1, 3.00 ERA).

Game notes: Revs' manager Andy Etchebarren said he has moved left-hander Jesus Sanchez out of the starting rotation and into the bullpen. Righty Omar Javier and lefty Yunior Novoa are now the team's No. 4 and No. 5 starters.
