Kennard-Dale scored a first-inning run and made it stand up on Wednesday afternoon en route to a 1-0 softball victory at Spring Grove.

Julia D'Arrigo doubled in the first and came around to score after two passed balls.

The victory helped the Rams avenge an earlier 2-0 loss to Spring Grove in Fawn Grove. In that game, the Rockets' Erika Heck struck out 18 in a perfect game.

Heck pitched well again, striking out nine and scattering five hits in a complete-game effort.

K-D starter Desi Joines was just a little better, however, pitching a two-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts. She also paced her team with three hits.

With the win, the Rams moved within 11/2 games of first-place Spring Grove in York-Adams Division II. K-D is now 6-5 overall and 5-4 in the division. The Rockets fell to 9-4 and 7-3.
